Piqosity is a living application! Our engineering and content teams are continuously making improvements and deploying new features. These deployments generally happen early in the morning on Monday or Thursdays, Houston time. Summary notes appear below. 

May 9, 2024

This morning we held a small deployment to release Digital SAT #10 and fix the following issues:

  • Re-ordering questions and answer choices within a PBQ 
  •  Updating lesson durations for all existing lessons on the app to prevent any "0 Minute" lesson durations on PVT or Assignment agenda pages

April 25, 2024

In this deployment we released Digital SAT #9 (Martel). We also completed a few small bug fixes:

  • Removing extra tests from the assignment builder
  • Showing statistics on lesson duration on the "Edit Lesson" page
  • Fixing UI related to review page score donuts on the Digital SAT and ELA 10 course

April 18, 2024

This week we improved multipage lessons in coordination with the release of our new ACT Video Course. We also pushed the following bug fixes:

  • Question and lesson improvements regarding visibility for tutors and their students (both inside and outside organizations)
  • Teacher Classroom Q&A feature 
  • Adding the "Mark Question" feature to Digital SAT tests
  • Admin-side test attempt stats at the full-test and sub

This week we had a small deployment addressing a couple of minor bugs:

  • Continuing work on lesson visibility issues for organization tutors and their students
  • Accurately displaying test and test section stats for app administrators
  • Refreshing passage labels in the ACT course so that users can request particular passage types as a more advanced aspect of Personalized Practice  

March 28, 2024

The highlight of today's deployment was the publishing of Piqosity's eighth Digital SAT, "Sid Rich". We also addressed several small bugs relating to:

  • Lesson visibility in the "Newest Lessons" feed for "Premium" content 
  • Embedded exams and their visibility to users without an account
  • Full-length test and section-level statistics 

March 21, 2024

Today's update addressed a handful of bugs from very specific use cases:

  • Issues with free response questions showing the wrong combination of question and answer choices when a test or quiz is navigated in a specific manner.
  • Issues with the timer showing incorrect data when a test or quiz is navigated using only the pagination icons in a specific manner.
  • Additional fixes to question and lesson visibility depending on a student user's membership level.

We also published our 7th SAT Digital practice test, "Lovett."

March 13, 2024

This week we again conducted a small deployment that included these fixes:

  • UI improvements to the lessons page
  • Increased enforcement of lesson and question privacy settings
  • Correcting the order of novel and play subsections on the Units page in our ELA courses

This morning we conducted a minor deployment that included 2 bug fixes:

  • Making "Overtime" the default designation for all Math & ELA courses
  • Fixing "Gamified" practice within the Personalized Practice tool 

February 29, 2024

Leap Day morning we conducted a relatively minor deployment which included statistics, assignments, and scoring pages:

  1. Finalizing student and organization stats, which you can read about: students & orgs
  2. Adding an "All Students" function to assignments so that educators can easily tag all their students to an assignment
  3. UI fixes to the scoring donuts on a quiz or test results page
  4. Fixes allowing more image types to be uploaded

February 22, 2024

Fixes in this deployment focused on assignments, stats, and some minor UI issues. These included:

  1. Making it easier for students to "Resume" assignments that are not yet completed, and preventing "Started" assignments from being edited
  2. Fixing tool-tips for the "Mark Question" tool
  3. UI fixes to student and organization-level stats as part of our continued improvement of student stats
  4. Showing improved directions for tests

February 15, 2024

This morning we released 3 additional Digital SAT exams: Wiess, Jones, and Brown. These tests are accessible at no cost while our Digital SAT course is under construction. Other fixes included:

  1. Restoring and improving the "Mark" feature for questions. 
  2. Completing our revisions of student-level statistics like score, baseline, and gain
  3. Enabling tutors to view all of their courses in one tab (i.e. more than one page worth)
  4. Improving functionality for Passage-Based Questions in Personalized Practice and Assignments
  5. Admin-side stats updates for full-length exam sections

February 6, 2024

This morning we released several fixes for our new Digital SAT tests plus some enhancements to student statistics and features like overtime. Fixes included:

  1. Updates to the new Digital SAT Scoring algorithm
  2. Improvements to student baseline score measurements 
  3. Fixes to stats and core educator features like course dashboard access
  4. Restoring overtime feature

February 1, 2024

This morning we released our first batch of 3 Digital SATs (affectionately named after Rice University's residential colleges): Baker, Will Rice, and Hanszen. These tests are accessible at no cost while the Digital SAT course is under development. Other fixes included:

  1. UI edits to MathType multi-line equations 
  2. Updates to student statistics to make baseline score measurements more accurate (applied to new users only)
  3. Enhancements to admin functions 

January 18, 2024

This morning's deployment included several bug fixes and some background improvements, including:

  1. Fixes to the assignment builder for assigning work to multiple students and allowing the use of tests 11 and 12 in assignments
  2. UI cleanups to profile images and cover images on various lesson pages
  3. Fix to manual updates of students' statistics 
  4. Addressing various error messages found within lesson pages
  5. Updates made to SSL certificates for website validation
  6. Updates to email servers

January 11, 2024

Miscellaneous bug fixes including:

  1. Fix to educator view displaying incorrect number of students
  2. Fix to educator assignments allowing all students to be seen in the "create assignment" view
  3. UI cleanups to new user registration, user profiles, and question pages

January 4, 2024

Miscellaneous bug fixes including:

  1. Improvements to default user profile images
  2. Fix to show number of assigned passages using the updated Teacher Assignments feature
  3. Fix to remove "are you sure" notification when leaving the Student Lessons page

December 28, 2023

Our last scheduled deployment of 2023 is a gift to educators with a completely rewrite of the Assignments feature:

  • Teacher assignment builder is completely rewritten in Angular for improved performance
  • The user interface is updated to be easier to use
  • New features include estimated assignment duration in minutes and questions 
  • The student assignment view is also completely rewritten with more intuitive navigation buttons and instructions page with estimated duration

Miscellaneous bug fixes and enhancements include:

  • New default user profile images generated from a user's first and last name
  • Decreased loading time of the full-length test and units page for students
  • Updates to the organization view of active and inactive students
  • Updates to Personalized Practice to improve backend performance of standard practice
  • Update to the calculation of student Baseline score that will calculate the score only after exactly 25 questions per each course topic have been completed.

November 27, 2023

This morning's deployment included major feature upgrades alongside normal bug fixes:

  1. Personalized Practice is completely updated both with the UI and backend. We updated the setup view with fewer options and more conditional logic to make it easier to use. The backend is completely rewritten in Angular and results in significantly faster load times. 
  2. Available Content and Test Unlocking are new tabs within Personalized Practice that provide better insight into how many and what type of questions are available to the student to practice according to their subscription plan.
  3. Review Activities is also completely rewritten for students. A new feature is "Activity Logs" which allows students and their supervisors to see every activity the user has completed on the app including time stamps.
  4. Passage Based Questions (PBQs) receive improved integration across the app. For example, now students can designate how many PBQs they want to see in personalized practice and what genre they want to practice. We also now calculate a PBQ's overall normed difficulty.
  5. The Organization Course View is updated to include better user stats and the ability to manually inactivate students.
  6. Miscellaneous bug fixes include better support for the browser's "back" button, restoring of personalized practice at the end of a lesson, and enabling user's to see a student's selection from the self-assessment.

October 27, 2023

Today's update included backend upgrades and a fix for the FLT view that could result in the student's last answer selection not being saved if they didn't click on the next button. We also optimized the FLT view page for first time loads and applied fixes for PDF math images.

We also improved student stats to ensure that all work completed in an assignment was properly accounted for.

Miscellaneous bug fixes including:

  2. MathType equation rendering

  1. UI improvement to the Full-Length Test mode that enables answer results to save even if the student doesn't click on the "next button." For example, the student can navigate the test exclusively using the number pagination icons in the footer. They can even close the browser window and come back without losing their answer selections.
  2. Performance improvements to the Full-Length Test mode to decrease loading time between questions on very long tests and improve image loading into the whiteboard.
  3. Performance improvements for personalized practice to enable adaptive style for passage-based questions. Passages now feature overall difficulty based off the dynamic difficulty of their attached questions.
