Educators and Organization Admins can communicate with their students directly on Piqosity by posting to the Class Stream. The Stream is the first tab on the Dashboard, and it allows you to easily post messages to your students.

To submit a post to the Stream, take the following steps:

Step 1 - Find the Stream post creator on the Dashboard

The "Stream" tab is the first tab on your Dashboard, and by default your Dashboard will always open up to the Stream tab.

Step 2 - Narrow down your post's audience with the dropdown menus

Above the post editor you'll see dropdown menus which allow you to narrow down the audience that will receive your post.

Educators have the following options:

  • Course (Ex: Algebra 2, ISEE Upper Level, SAT, ELA 8)
  • Class (Ex: SAT Block 1, Algebra 1 Block 2)
  • Student

A course and class must be specified to submit your stream. However, specifying the student is optional. If the student field is left blank, then the stream post will be sent to the entire class.

Meanwhile, administrators have the following options:

  • Course
  • Teacher
  • Class
  • Student

A course, teacher, and class must be specified for an administrator to submit a stream. As with educators, administrators can leave the student field blank in order to send a stream post to all students within a class.

Note: if you would like all of your associated students to receive your post, then do not select any options from the drop down menus and instead check the "Send to Everyone" box at the bottom of the post editor.

Step 3 - Compose your post with the post creator

The post editor contains varied functions, including:

  • Write chemistry equations
  • Write math equations
  • Insert links
  • Insert images and videos

Step 4 - Submit your post

First, select whether you would like to make your post Sticky. A Sticky post will stay at the top of the stream you post it to (a student, class, or all students) even as other posts are created.

Once you're ready to submit your post simply select the green "Submit" button.

Your students will see your post right on their Dashboards:If your students choose to comment on your post, then you'll see their replies in the course stream as well:
