Piqosity's question and lesson editors give educators the flexibility to build and use their own content in addition to Piqosity's pre-existing questions and lessons. In this article, we'll cover how an educator can embed a video into the text editor.
The instructions below detail how to embed a video into Piqosity's text editor. Right now, Piqosity only supports embedded videos—you cannot upload a video directly to Piqosity.
Steps to Embedding Videos Into Piqosity's Text Editor
- Upload your video onto a hosting site such as YouTube or Vimeo.
- Copy the video embed code from the video hosting site. Note: using relative dimensions (i.e. percentages for height and width) often works best.
- In Piqosity's lesson editor, click the 3 dots menu on the top-right side of the editor:
- From the expanded menu click the Code View "< >" icon:
- Paste your video embed code into the text editor code view in whichever position you want it to go relative to any other text or images in your lesson.
- Click on the Code View "< >" icons again to be taken out of the code view. Your video should render in the lesson editor, and you can continue to write your lesson around the video just as if it were an image. Note: if you can't get your cursor to show up below the image, you may need to re-enter the code view and add some text below the video embed code so that the editor allows you to continue typing.
Note: The lesson and question editors are the same. While the photos in this article shows the lesson editor, the same procedure will work in the question editor.
